Unified Terms & Privacy Policy
This document explains how Berryshaga uses and protects your data, how in-app purchases and ads work,
and how our speech-based AI features operate.
This policy applies to the Berryshaga mobile application (the “App”).
1. Overview
This document describes how Berryshaga (the “App”) handles personal data, in-app purchases (IAP),
advertisements (including AdMob rewarded ads), overseas data transfers, and speech-based AI
functionalities such as speech recognition (STT) and AI-driven feedback.
The App provides:
- Google Login
- Apple Login
- Guest Login
- In-app purchases and subscription services
- Rewarded ads via Google AdMob
2. Data Collected & Collection Method
2.1 Login / Signup Data
Google Login
When you sign in with Google, the following data may be collected:
- Name
- Email address
- Profile image (if permission is granted)
- Google unique user ID
- Authentication tokens required for sign-in
Sign in with Apple
When you sign in with Apple, the following data may be collected:
- Name (only when Apple provides it for the first time)
- Email address (including Apple’s private relay email)
- Apple app-scoped unique user ID
- Authentication tokens required for sign-in
Guest Login
When you use guest login, we collect:
- A randomly generated guest UUID (identifier created by the App)
- Minimal gameplay/progress data only, without any direct personal identifiers
2.2 Automatically Collected Data
To operate the App, ensure stability, and improve performance, the App may automatically collect:
- Device information (operating system, OS version, language, country/region settings)
- App version and basic access logs (e.g., login time, session information)
- Error and crash logs
- Non-identifiable network information (e.g., connection type, latency)
- Rewarded ad view history (used only to determine eligibility for in-app rewards)
2.3 Advertising Data (AdMob)
The App uses Google AdMob to serve ads, particularly rewarded ads.
- Google AdMob may access the device’s advertising identifier (AdID/AAID).
- The App uses non-personalized ads only. Ads are not tailored to you based on behavioral profiling.
2.4 Purchase Data (In-App Purchases & Subscriptions)
For in-app purchases and subscriptions, the following information may be collected and stored:
- Name of the product purchased (e.g., item package name, subscription plan)
- Transaction or receipt identifiers needed for verification
- Subscription status information (start date, renewal date, expiration date)
3. Purpose of Processing Personal Data
We use the collected data for the following purposes:
- Providing authentication and login features
- Storing and synchronizing learning and gameplay progress
- Granting in-app rewards when rewarded ads are successfully viewed
- Processing in-app purchases and managing subscription status
- Diagnosing errors, crashes, and improving service quality
- Analyzing usage patterns to improve overall user experience
4. Data Retention

Personal data that is no longer needed for service provision will be deleted when you delete
your account or withdraw your consent, unless we are required by law to retain it longer.

Where applicable laws and regulations require us to retain certain records, we will store them
only for the minimum period required.

Advertising logs, error logs, and similar technical records are retained for a reasonable
period necessary for analysis and service improvement, after which they are securely deleted
or anonymized.
5. Third-Party Processing & Service Providers
To provide essential functionality, we may share minimal necessary information with the following
service providers:
Firebase (Authentication, Database, Hosting, Storage)
- Operates overseas servers and infrastructure
- Used for authentication, data storage, real-time database, and hosting
- Stores login information, gameplay/learning progress, and configuration data
Google AdMob (Rewarded Ads)
- Serves in-app rewarded ads
- May use the device advertising identifier (AdID/AAID) as permitted
- Used only for non-personalized advertising in this App
OpenAI (STT, TTS & AI Features)
- Speech-to-text (STT) processing of recorded audio
- Text-to-speech (TTS) and AI-generated feedback or conversations
- Used to evaluate pronunciation, provide AI dialogue, and improve learning features
Apple Sign-In
- Provides secure login via Apple ID
- Uses Apple’s identity and token services for authentication
The App does NOT sell your personal data.
6. Overseas Data Transfer
The App uses overseas servers operated by Firebase, Google Cloud, AdMob, OpenAI, and related
cloud providers. As a result, your data may be transferred to and processed in countries such as:
- United States
- Singapore
- Japan
- Other regions where the above providers operate global data centers
All such transfers are performed in compliance with applicable data protection laws and regulations,
and appropriate technical and organizational safeguards are applied to protect your data.
7. Security Measures
We take reasonable and appropriate measures to protect your personal data, including:
- Using HTTPS/TLS encryption for data transmitted between the App and servers
- Applying minimal and role-based access permissions for internal systems
- Secure storage of sensitive information wherever applicable
- Periodic security checks and updates of our systems and dependencies
8. User Rights
Depending on your jurisdiction, you may have the following rights:
- The right to request access to your personal data stored by the App
- The right to request correction of inaccurate or incomplete personal data
- The right to request deletion of your personal data where legally permissible
- The right to delete your account and withdraw your consent to data processing

obtain your personal data in a structured, commonly used, and machine-readable format

9. Children’s Data
We do not knowingly collect personal data from children without verifiable parental or legal
guardian consent, where such consent is required by law. If we become aware that we have
collected personal data from a child without such consent, we will take steps to delete that
data as soon as reasonably possible.
10. Policy Changes
We may update this Terms & Privacy Policy from time to time to reflect changes in our services
or legal requirements. When we make significant changes, we will provide notice within the App
(for example, via an in-app notice or message).
12. Terms of Service
12.1 Service Components
The App includes, but is not limited to, the following features:
- Google / Apple / Guest login
- Story-based Korean language learning content
- Heart (energy) system
- Strawberries (premium currency)
- Time-limited “unlimited hearts” products
- Subscription products
- Rewarded ads (e.g., watch ads to receive hearts)
12.2 In-App Purchase (IAP) Policy
1) Time-Limited Unlimited Heart Products
These products grant unlimited use of hearts for a specified period starting immediately
after purchase.
- Benefits become active immediately upon successful purchase.
- Partial refunds for the used portion of the period are not available.
- Refunds, if any, are processed according to the policies of the platform store
(e.g., Google Play, Apple App Store).
2) Strawberry Packages (Consumable Purchases)
Strawberry packages are consumable items used within the App. Refunds for consumable items
are generally subject to the policies of the relevant app store.
- If the purchased consumable item has not been used, you may request a refund through the store’s
standard procedure where allowed.
- Once consumed in-app, refunds may not be available.
3) Subscription Products
- Subscriptions renew automatically according to the billing cycle of the store account.
- To cancel, you must manage your subscription directly in the App Store or Google Play
subscription settings.
- Partial refunds for an active billing period are generally not available.
- After cancellation, you can continue to use subscription benefits until the end of the current
billing period.
12.3 Rewarded Ads
Rewarded ads are optional and provide in-game rewards (such as hearts) when fully watched.
- Rewards are granted only when the ad is successfully viewed to completion, as reported by the ad SDK.
- Issues such as unplayable ads, server errors, or ad availability are usually related to the ad provider (SDK) or network conditions.
- The number of rewarded ads you can watch in a given period may be limited.
12.4 Forbidden Behavior
Users must not engage in any of the following actions:
- Reverse engineering, decompiling, or otherwise attempting to extract source code from the App
- Exploiting bugs, glitches, or vulnerabilities for unfair advantage
- Bypassing payment flows or abusing refund systems
- Abusing rewarded ads (e.g., using automated tools, faking ad views, or other fraudulent activity)
12.5 Service Modification & Discontinuation
The App and its features may be modified, updated, or suspended (in whole or in part) at any time
as reasonably required for technical, business, or legal reasons. In case of significant changes,
we will provide notice within the App where appropriate.
13. Speech & AI Learning Consent
13.1 Data Collected for Speech & AI Features
When using speech-based features (such as pronunciation practice, STT, or AI conversations),
the following types of data may be collected:
- Recorded voice audio
- Speech-to-text (STT) transcripts of your audio
- Pronunciation evaluation results (scores, feedback, and related metadata)
- Conversation and correction data generated during learning sessions
13.2 Purpose of Use
Your speech and AI-related data may be used for the following purposes:
- Evaluating and providing feedback on your pronunciation
- Improving STT accuracy and robustness for supported languages
- Enhancing the quality and relevance of AI conversations and feedback
- Personalizing learning content and recommendations for you
13.3 Consent Statement
By using the speech-based features of the App, you acknowledge and agree to the following:
“I consent to the use of my speech and related interaction data for the purpose of
improving AI performance and enhancing the quality of the Berryshaga service.”
